Hooray For... Accomplishing... Things......... Yeah!

So, I am feeling slightly accomplished today!
Seeing as days off usually aren't so productive,
today is a rarity. Haha!
I had some "me time" this morning. I feel like if you have a day off, you should always take a chunk out an do something for yourself! Me, I watched some YouTube and then watched 3:10 To Yuma.
(Great movie btw, I might do a ramble about it).
Then after your "you time", you should try and do something productive. For example, I called the dress shop in Marshfield to pay for my bridesmaid dress for my cousin Rebekah's wedding in July! And after freaking out about being the LAST PERSON to pay for their dress, therefore I am the reason why they weren't ordered sooner, I decided not to worry about it now cuz there isn't really anything I can do about it. By the way, I am the Maid of Honor! Bekah was born literally 2 days before me. We call ourselves the "almost-twins". Haha! She is amazing, I love her :)
What else makes today rare? Well, I did TWO productive things! After that call I loaded the dishwasher, washed everything that wouldn't fit, and then started running the dishwasher! AHHH!!! Mom will be so happy :)
Today is so full of rarities it's crazy.
Want to know why?
Cuz I am actually feeling slightly inspired to do some drawing!!! :D So I am going to go dig for my art book and pencils and try and do some artwork! WOO!!! And I have tomorrow off too, so if I start something that I actually like I can prolly work on it tomorrow too! YAY!!!
Ok, now I am officially excited! :)
Gotta find time somewhere in here to eat tho... Ha!
Shouldn't be a problem.
I LOVE FOOD!!!
That is me trying to figure out how to take a picture with the webcam thingy... Haha! I am a fail at technology...

Hope you have a wonderfully productive day too! :D

A Returning Customer!

Hey Everybody!
Ok, so before we get into the real reason for this post, let's just take a minute to appreciate these ADORABLE bunny marshmallows!
 AREN'T THEY THE CUTEST??

Anyways, so last week I got a message from a friend on facebook who I had made a cake for back in... September was it? I don't remember. It was late last year sometime. Ha!
She had gotten married and asked me to make the cake for her! :D It was really exciting. It was just a little cake for her and her husband and then cupcakes for all their guests
The cake was chocolate with a chocolate pudding filling and it was decorated with my homemade buttercream. I personally LOVED how this cake turned out, and so did she :)
The cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla and were decorated with a chocolate 'K' (for their last name)
So yeah! She was very happy with how it all turned out! So happy in fact that she wanted me to make her another cake! It would be for her daughter's 21st birthday. I was actually good friends with her daughter in school, so that's how she knows me. Haha! Just to clarify.
She wanted it to be marble, so my mom came up with this cool idea to try and make the inside look like zebra print! Now, I am a great lover of zebras so ooobviously this idea was pure brilliance!
The cake itself, no kidding, was chocolate and vanilla with a buttercream layer in the middle then frosted and decorated with my homemade buttercream! This was actually something really different for me because I had never free handed the writing on a cake before, and I've never done the ruffles down the side. I'm just happy it turned out! And so was she! And I hear it tasted pretty good too :)
So that was all exciting!
It felt good to make a cake again!
I didn't like baking it tho... I don't like baking... and yet everyone thinks I'm this amazing baker because of my cakes. They ask how I make them and I'm like...
"Uhhh... Duncan Hines has amazing box mixes that are really easy to use... *derp*" Ha!
UGH! Look what happened right before I tried to do this post today...
This is seriously like the WORST screen to pop up on your computer... I died a little inside... :(
Oh but that's ok, it only took
20 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasting Life... Like A Pro

So, I have been wanting to do a post for the last couple days, but I couldn't think of what to do a post about.
Sure I could do it about knitting or one of the other things on Taylor's List Of Daily Doings... which just consists of eat, sleep, and work...
But, I haven't been knitting...
What have I been doing you may ask?
Well, let me introduce you to

Dan And Phil!
They are a couple of British YouTubers who have taken up all of my spare time.
I've been subscribed to them for a while but haven't seen everything. So basically I have been re-watching ALL of their YouTube videos...
And debating on whether or not to buy this shirt...
The shirt is pretty much awesomesaucetastic.
It sums up basically everything. Haha!
Their YouTube names are danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil

 Yup, so there's my life.
And just when you think you've seen all their videos, you find more!!!
And they are really funny too!
They like to draw cat whiskers on their faces! So that automatically makes them awesome
Basically I would like to meet them.
But the likelihood of that happening is very extra slim to none. Which I guess is ok. Cuz even if I did meet them, I would just be completely awkward as usual and just be like...
... Hi... *walks away*
Plus they are in London (which I will probably never go there), and when they come to the US they are always in places like Florida or California.
Wisconsin is too far north.
Ah well, such is life.
I will just go on watching their videos.
And listening to their show on BBC Radio 1.
I might get something done in the next week...
Maybe... ;)

Ooo! Something exciting!
I am shipping my giveaway hat tomorrow! YAY!

Sorry if you came to my blog today to read something that would be worthwhile... But I just felt like blogging and this was the only thing. Haha! But now you can't say that you've never heard of Dan and Phil! So I guess it was good for something ;)

Have a GREAT night!

Apocalyptic Snow Storm!

WELCOME TO DOOMSDAY!
...
... According to some news stations...
*cough* Fox News *cough*
...
Yeah, so apparently this was supposed to be some huge storm that would have given us like... 2 feet of snow... Mmhmm. Not much there. But it didn't stop me from freaking out about it cuz I had to work this morning at 7 before any of the plows came out! Honestly it wasn't bad tho.
It was actually kind of pretty! It was those big fat flakes of snow in the morning, then it went to those kind of shimmery shiny flakes by the end of the day. Yeah, it's been snowing since I woke up this morning. But what can you expect in Wisconsin?
I was telling Emilie, at work, that we need to get a new groundhog. HA! Cuz since his prediction that we would have an early spring, we have had probably 3 big blizzards. LIAR!!! But then I came across an interesting thought. Maybe because we are having an early spring, winter is just trying to cram in all the weather that we would have had spread out over those extra 3 weeks of winter that is now 3 weeks of spring. See what I mean?
BRILLIANT!
What an artistic picture!
I didn't even really mean for it to turn out this cool :)

Anyways

Random Ramblings Of A Movie Lover - Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

Hi Everybody!
So I decided I'm going to start a kind of themed post. (We will see how long this lasts)
Anyways, what it's going to be is anytime I feel like rambling about a movie, I'm going to ramble about it... Uh... Yeah. So, I'm going to call it Random Ramblings Of A Movie Lover! Cuz I sure am a great lover of movies!

Today I am going to ramble about Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief!
I guess the reason why I'm going to ramble about this particular movie is because I am currently almost finished reading the book!
So, as you may have guessed, I saw the movie before I read the book... long before I read the book... Like 3 whole years the movie was out before I read the book. Haha! Anyways, I like the movie! I have nothing bad at all to say about the movie. I like the acting and I thought the story was good, had a good pace and kept you interested! But... there's just one thing... it's not really anything like the book. Haha!
As I was reading it, I kept thinking back to the movie and was like "Huh... that didn't happen... oh they are on that team?... oh so that whole scene didn't actually take place... wait... Annabeth has blonde hair?... Percy doesn't have eyes as blue as some Greek sea?... Grover has long shaggy hair?..." etc etc etc. Basically it felt like 2 completely different things but the people in them have the same names. Haha!
I can't imagine what the people who were hardcore fans of the book thought of the movie. It was probably the same way I felt about the Eragon movie. Haha! But they are making the second book, Sea of Monsters, and it's supposed to come out this year! So people must have liked it enough to keep going with the series... unlike Eragon... Ha!
Basically, to end my random rambling,
I very much enjoy the movie (I just watched it a couple days ago), and I am very much enjoying the book! Only 4 chapters left then its on to Book 2! :)

So ends my first Random Ramblings Of A Movie Lover!
We shall see if I can keep it up! ;)

AND DON'T FORGET TO JOIN MY GIVEAWAY!!!
Its Day 4 and there's still bunches of time left!

That One Movie

Has it ever happened to you where you only want to watch one movie? Like you have this whole library of movies and you only want to watch the one that you have watched every night for the past week.
That's what I'm feeling right now.
What is my movie of choice?

The Brothers Grimm!
Starring Matt Damon and Heath Ledger

Now, this has got to be one of my top movies. It is in no way based on what actually happened to the Grimm brothers (who wrote all the fairytales... obviously ;)), but it kind makes it seem like this is where they got all the ideas for their stories (which they didn't). But it is just a very fun movie and I love the music especially, and the acting. Heath Ledger is one of my FAVORITE actors, I love him and it is so tragic what happened to him... :( Anyways, I would recommend it to you, but its not for the faint of heart.

It's true, I have watched this movie pretty much every night. I fall asleep to it. Now, I shall watch it while I knit the rest of my GIVEAWAY slouchy hat!

THERE IS STILL TIME TO JOIN!
Haha! It's only the 2nd day of my giveaway!
CLICK --> HERE <--

Anyways, hope you have a wonderful night! :)
I know I will because it will be filled with knitting!

Happy 100th Post GIVEAWAY!!! :D

Hooray Everyone!
This is my 100th Post!
That's just crazy! I looked at my homepage and it said 99 posts, and it took a minute to register that it meant the next one was 100! Haha!
But I am super excited! I asked my mom, who was a blogger long before me, what I should do and she said I should have a GIVEAWAY!
So that is just what I shall do! :)

***Sorry, but due to shipping costs this drawing is open to U.S. residents Only ***

Here are the simple rules:
 1. Write me a comment in this post and you will get 1 entry
2. Follow my blog and post another separate comment saying you follow and you will get a 2nd entry (even if you were already following me before this, still write a comment saying so)
3. Make a post on your blog about my giveaway then leave me another separate comment saying you did a post, maybe even put a link to it in the comment, and you will get a 3rd entry
Again, all of your comments have to be made on THIS POST otherwise they will not be counted.
That's all pretty easy right! And you could have your name in the drawing up to 3 times!
Now what, you may ask, will the drawing be for?
Well, I shall tell you!

The drawing for my 100th Post Giveaway is going to be this cable knit slouchy hat!
*Picture compliments of Celebrity Slouchy Beanies for the family

And it is going to be knit with this green Caron Simply Soft yarn!
I have not started it yet. I was originally going to do a different hat, but I ended up not liking how it was turning out so I figured that would be a bad one to have for a giveaway. Haha!
Anyways, I am going to start knitting tonight and will probably have it done by tomorrow or Tuesday and I will do a post with a picture of it.
*Picture compliments of Celebrity Slouchy Beanies for the family

So all that being said, you can start leaving comments obviously as soon as you see the post.

The deadline is FRIDAY FEB. 22nd at MIDNIGHT!!!
I will hold the drawing on SATURDAY FEB. 23rd and announce the winner that afternoon/night!

Best of luck to you all!
I had better start knitting! :)

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Hello Everybody!
So today, seeing as it is Saturday, we went SHOPPING! Ha! It's like there is nothing else to do on a Saturday... just like everyone else... who is also shopping... so you are just part of the madness. Yeah, I am not a big shopper and definitely not the person who goes on Saturdays.
BUT! Today was a special day because I had a purchase coupon for Joann Fabrics! So OF COURSE I had to go and make good use of this! So I bought a bunch of YARN! There is no better thing than coming home with a bag full of new yarn! :)

So while I was shopping around, I found another FREE pattern. (I'm not gonna say what it is because I'm going to knit it and surprise everyone!) But here is the yarn I got for said project
Sugar 'n Cream is one of my favorite brands. They knit up amazing wash cloths and... other... things... ;) NOPE I'M NOT TELLING!!!

But I also found THIS yarn!
It is Caron Simply Soft
I have never heard of or used this yarn, but it was on sale and I just grabbed a skein and felt it and oh my goodness is it SOFT!!! I have a couple hat patterns that I think it would be PERFECT for! And the colors are so pretty too :) I had a hard time choosing which colors I wanted, there were so many gorgeous ones!

Needless to say I am really excited to start some more projects with my NEW YARN! But now the question is... should I finish the ones I have going, or just start these and have about 5 going at once? Haha! We shall see :)

A Princess Belle Cake

So, I witnessed an atrocity today. While I out shopping with my friend Savannah, we drove past a gas station. I just happened to be looking at the gas price and literally WATCHED it go from $3.62 to $3.69... I watched it! It looked like a digital clock moving super fast. I thought oh my goodness you have GOT to be KIDDING! So yeah, I think not even 2 weeks ago, or whenever the last time I got gas was, it was only about $3.27... LAME! I hate having to buy gas...

Anyways, to the actual point of my post, I made a birthday cake... was it last year? Yeah it was 2012, for my friend Skye's birthday. She LOVES Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast. So, I found one of those pans that has the doll that you can put with it and I made it look like Belle!
Of course she has her ever famous yellow ball gown on! The dress is made with chocolate cake and frosted with my homemade buttercream frosting. The top of the dress, which was the part that was on the doll so you couldn't eat it, is made with royal icing. That's the kind that gets super hard, so it was perfect for the top so it wouldn't fall off the doll.
I used a picture I found on the internet to try and get it to look as close as possible to how it looks in the movie. Skye was really excited that I even got the 3 little buttons there on the top part of the dress where the sleeves come together at the front. I had to make her perfect because Skye knows all about her and everything.
I even tried to get the hair the same. Tried to make it all twisted and stuff like it is in the movie a little bit. I'm not sure it turned out the way I wanted but it was still really pretty! At least we had some yellow ribbon here so I could have the right bow color!
Skye was really happy with it. :)
She has no idea that this was going to be her cake! I think she even kept the top half of the doll. It still had the hardened icing on it, so why not? Haha!

I will definitely be using this pan again! It was super fun to make! :)

What's On YOUR Needles?

What's on YOUR knitting needles today?

I have a couple projects going.
Here is a brown square with left and right twists in it.
It is for a blanket that I am making. It is made with about 20 knit squares sewn together.
I only have 1 other square done so it might take me a while to be finished. But I am pretty excited about it! Some of the patterns look really fun and interesting. I was going to try and finish this square tonight, only need a couple more rounds of the pattern to go, but I think I will wait till tomorrow.

My other project is one I started because all my knitting stuff was packed away, including all my pattern books. So I shopped around JoAnns and found a free cable scarf pattern, got the materials to make it, and brought it to knit night!
It is rather tedious... which by the way is not my favorite kind of pattern... It has to measure about 60" and then you make pockets to go on each side. The pockets are what convinced me to make it, thought it was a neat idea! But it will definitely be a while before I finish it mostly because I don't like how tedious it is. HA!

Anyways, hope you had a good Valentine's Day! Mom and Dad got me candy and a neat pen with my name on it. :)
Have a great rest of your night!

 Taylor Kay

Pepe Le Pew Wishes You A Happy Valentine's Day!

I suppose I could start this post by saying...
Happy Valentine's Day!

Some people are quite nice on Valentine's Day.
Bringing candy and flowers to the people they love.

Being overly affectionate and sweet in public.

But that's ok, because today is VALENTINE'S DAY!
And...

Then there's me... with a mallet... ;)
HA! Don't get me wrong! I have nothing against Valentine's Day and doting on the people you love, but shouldn't you do that every day? I guess Valentine's Day is just the only day that public displays of affection are acceptable. And by golly people are gonna publicly display!
I guess I just never really got into all that. I mean I really liked it when I was a kid and we got valentines for all of our classmates and made little bags to hang off the front of our desks. And you always picked your favorite valentine to give to the person you had a crush on! Haha!
I suppose I don't really mind Valentine's Day. Mom and Dad get me a card, usually I get one in the mail from my Grandma too. I guess it would hold a little more significance for me if I was married or something. We shall see

But anyways,

(might post later if I get bored :) Ha!)
