How Lovely Are Thy Branches

 Put up the Christmas tree the other day! I had to try something different this year because I got a new little kitten and wanted to make sure she wasn't going to destroy my ornaments. On my actual tree I only have ornaments that I'm sure will not break if somehow the tree ends up on the floor.

So, I bought some garland to hang across the giant window in my livingroom to hang all my breakable ornaments on. I actually like how this turned out. Kind of scared that the garland will eventually fall down and break everything I was trying not to. Wouldn't that just be how it goes. Ha!

 I've also hung up lights on some of the shelves in my livingroom. Once they were up, I thought it would be pretty cool to hang some ornaments off of them too! This here is my bird shelf, so I hung my bird ornaments on it! 

 And on my horse shelf I hung all my fairy ornaments! I love these fairies!! Aren't they just the cutest?? My grandma started me on this series years and years ago, they come out with a new one every year. She also started me on the 12 Days of Christmas series (which are the bird ornaments in the last picture).

 Now that the tree is up, I wrapped the first Christmas presents last night! It's one of my favorite things to do, wrapping all the presents. :)

Sister Bay Fall Festival - Day 16

Hello all!

So it is Sunday night, and we got home from the Sister Bay Fall Festival! We all had a GREAT time selling gyros, spanikopita, souflakia, baklava, russian torte, and pitzels! Wow... not sure about the spelling on some of those... Haha! But yeah, this year the weather was super nice but it was a little bit windy on Saturday. It's better than the horrible weather that was predicted, though! HOORAY! I am a little bummed that no one has gotten any pictures up yet. But as soon as someone does I will prolly post a few! So yeah, all in all, it was an amazing time and I already can't wait until next year! :)

One downside though, I wasn't able to watch the Packers beat up on the Rams. :( Ah well. We had a radio at our booth so we were all listening to it! I didn't know they were playing in the throwback jerseys. I LOVE THESE JERSEYS! They are so cool :) Anyways, now the Packers are the ONLY 6-0 team in the league (now that the Lions lost to the 49ers). YAY!!! So exciting! :)

PACKERS WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!

WOOO HOOO!!! That's Right! PACKERS WON!!! But boy was it a nail-biter... :P The entire second half I was pretty much under a blanket. HA!

Super Bowl Sunday... GO PACK GO!!! ... Would you like some cake?

Ok, before I go on a total Packers rampage, I am gonna talk about a cake that I made. :) HAHA! So, our choir director at church has now stopped being choir director. There was a thing said for him at a meeting today and I was asked to make a cake. So, of course, I LOVED the idea of making a cake! HA! 

Oh My Goodness... this is by far the most annoying cake I have made yet. HAHA! The main problem was... it was chocolate. Any cake decorator KNOWS that chocolate cake is the DEATH of all cake decorating if you don't do things right. Well, let's just say I didn't do it right. There was crumbs EVERYWHERE! I thought I didn't need a crumb coat... but I totally did! So what should have taken only 2 batches of frosting ended up taking 4 because I had to throw most of the first 2 batches out... :P 

But, with my mom's help, it all turned out just great! Everyone at church absolutely LOVED it! I am not much of a sweets person so I didn't try it myself... HAHA! Yeah... I know... Crazy. ;)

Anyways... Now it's time for...

PACKERS!!!

 Oh my goodness, I am so excited for the Super Bowl TODAY!!! 

Up above you see Aaron Rodgers doing his famous CHAMPIONSHIP BELT move... :) HAHA! Let's hope we see a lot of that tonight, yes?

 HAHAHA! Kind of a failed Lambeau Leap... But HEY at least he tried! :D

So my family is having FONDUE... is that how you spell that? HAHA! And we are having a few people come over from church. It should be a pretty exciting time! 

 Alright... How can you compete against a FLYING QUARTERBACK??? HAHA! If you can believe it, he actually completed this pass to someone... I think... HA! I am pretty sure he did. AWESOME!!!!!!! :D 

 I love the throwback jerseys. They look so COOL! My dad actually has an Aaron Rodgers one. It's pretty stinking awesome! And I love that the helmets are brown. They are brown because this jersey is from WAAAY back when there were those leather helmets instead of the new ones now. Pretty interesting, huh? Yes, yes it is! :)

That's right, Rodgers! You spike that ball after running in for a touchdown! My goodness... I sure hope we see a lot of ball-spiking tonight from the Packers!

That's right! The Packers are going to the SUPERBOWL!!! This is all so exciting for me!!! :D :D :D I was too young to remember the last SuperBowl that they won, back in '97, so this is like SUPER AWESOME!!!

Ok, ok, ok, down to business here. :) A friend at church just had a baby, his name is Anastasios, and the church ladies are throwing a baby shower for her next Sunday. Sooo, I just HAD to make a couple of little hats for the little man! 

Hehe! I just LOVE this little stem on the top of this hat!!! It is just so darn CUTE! :D So, if I had a hat with a stem on top, I just HAD to make one with a little pom pom too! :)

   I actually created both of these hat patterns myself. I used a pattern for a newborn hat just to see about how many stitches to cast on and what weight to use, but these two are my own creations! I am kinda sorta proud of them :) Haha! Should I feel bad about that? 

Anyways, it's a little late and I am tired out from all the cheering for my  

PACKERS!!!!

GO PACK GO Birthday Cake!

 Wooo! GO PACKERS!!! 

So, my sister's boyfriend, Ben, is a HUGE football/Packers fan. So, I knew exactly what cake I was going to make for his birthday! :D

 This was my first try at making a cake that wasn't completely flat on top. Sure I made a circle cake and a heart cake... But NEVER something like this. IT WAS SUPER FUN! 

I had a great time making this cake and it turned out WaaaY better than I expected. :D

 What the cake was and stuff was kept completely secret from Ben while I was decorating it, and I think he was very happy with how it turned out! :)

AND DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS???

PACKERS ARE GOING TO THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!
