A Valentine's Card

Good Evening All!
I don't have too much to say in this post, except that I started and finished a super small project tonight in a matter of about 10 minutes! Frankly, I think that calls for celebration because it rarely takes such a short amount of time for any of my projects. Haha!
Anyways, it's getting close to Valentine's Day and I have a gift for Leila but I needed a card
So, I made one! Now when I say a super small project, I mean a super small project! This little card is only 3"x3". I figure she's a tiny girl, so she should get a tiny card. Ha!
It took me a while to decide on what punch to use for the bottom of the red piece. Narrowed it down to 3 different punches and finally chose this one! I am very happy with how it turned out! Super Cute! :)
Of course I gotta get her a little stuffed animal too. Found this bear at Hobby Lobby and thought it was perfect!
So yeah, there's my super small post about a
super small project!
In other news, I am VERY excited that the Broncos won the Super Bowl yesterday!!! YAAAAAAAY!!!!! I was worried, but the defense was AMAZING! I am happy Manning won another championship :) Anyways, hope you have a lovely rest of your evening!

A Couple Old Projects

Hey Everybody!
So, for the last few days I had been stuck at my apartment because there was supposed to be an apocalyptic snow storm on Tuesday. The news was talking about it non stop and we were all expecting to be buried in snow for days and days. They even shut down schools by 6pm on Monday night. Well, the day arrived... and it was actually pretty nice out for most of the morning. Haha! It didn't even start snowing until after 12. Course it was coming down pretty hard and I still had to work until 2, but thruthfully it was not bad at all. It even stopped snowing by about 6pm. My street, which I'll add is a back road side street and doesn't get plowed until all the other streets are done, was plowed by 9pm. Basically, it was a HUGE disappointment. We only got maybe 5" of snow... Ha! Thank you weather channels for overreacting tremendously.
Anyways, now that I've explained why I haven't written a post in a while, I have a couple of projects to show you!
Up first is a COW HAT that I knit about 2 years ago
I bought a knitting book that has about 15 different animal hat patterns in it. I LOVE COWS, so that's pretty much the whole reason why I bought the book.
It was fun to make! There is a lining inside to make it extra warm. It really didn't even take that long to knit up either. Tho, there were lots of little parts that I had to sew on after they were all knit. That probably took the longest.
The reason I am posting about this hat is because I have a plan to make some more of the patterns as gifts for a few people. I won't talk about the specifics so as not to give anything away. But yeah! You will see those projects once they are finished :)

Next I wanted to show you something I made
for my niece, Leila.
It is a personalized hook board! (I don't know if that's the official name, but I couldn't think of how else to say it.)
Sorry, the picture is not the best quality... but each letter has a different paper covering it! They all match in a cool way. Bri and Ben decorated her room in the tealy blues and oranges, so I designed accordingly.
All the letter are wood and painted in blue to match the hooks and then I glued patterned paper to them. Its a fun project! I'd done it a few times before for my friends' children and Bri liked it, so I had to be sure to make her one! :)
As you might have guessed, I posted about this project because I will be making another one! I bought all the letters the other day and now I just have to find all the paper to cover them with. Better get cracking too, because little Oliver will be here before we know it! WOOT WOOT!!!
Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! I will continue to watch some Oldy Von Moldy movies with my Dad! :)

My 2015 Review

Hello All!

Yes, I know, I'm a bit late but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I've been crazy busy the last week or so with family stuff and finally found a day where I can reflect on 2015 and look forward to 2016!
Is it terrible that I can't really think of anything that really happened during 2015? I moved to a new apartment and got a new job in April, so that's... exciting..? HA! Well, Leila was just born at the end of 2014 so a lot of my time was spent with her so I think she would be the highlight of the year.

Here is the first picture I posted in 2015:
We were up in Door County last January and we were watching a football game. Leila was laying like this while watching. HAHA! She's such a cutie :)

In the fall my church had a fundraiser and Bri and I made cupcakes and cake pops to sell in the bake sale. THEY WERE A HIT!! Super fun to make too, but a tiny bit tedious.

Here is a picture that I drew in November. Of all the pictures I drew in 2015 (and there were a few), this is the one I'm most proud of! It's Colin Morgan, an Irish actor who I mentioned in a previous post.

But on another note, LOTS of good movies came out in 2015! I know you've probably heard of most of these, but maybe some you haven't. Here are some of my favorite movies released in 2015 (Beware, there's Lots):
You can click on the pictures to be taken to the IMDB site for each movie

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3567288/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2908446/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3007512/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2395427/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4
WOW! That took a lot of maneuvering trying to get all those pictures to look half decent. HAHA!
Anyways, even tho that's a lot of movies there are still some that I haven't seen yet and definitely want to! Such as: Southpaw, Everest, The Martian, Pan, Crimson Peak, Suffragette, Brooklyn, Spectre, Mockingjay Part 2, Macbeth, Joy, and The Revenant. (Click on the movie titles to be taken to its IMDB page.) I know, that's a bunch more! Haha! It was a good year for movies! :)

So there was my review of 2015!
BRING ON 2016!
Hope you have a wonderful rest of your evening!

Snow + More Snow = Hot Cocoa!

Alright everyone, winter has decided to arrive. Why it couldn't come a week ago I'll never know. I would have been much more excited about it then! But now... not so much.
Mom can be seen here looking out the window as the street plow drives by to put more snow at the end of the driveway. We had just finished shoveling out the first round... *sigh*

Green Bay got 13.2 inches of snow, according to a weather post on facebook. Usually we get less than the surrounding areas, but this storm we actually had the most snow! And of course I was scheduled to work at 5AM, yeah that didn't happen.
But I still ended up waking up at 4:00 this morning, so decided to have a Star Wars marathon (episodes 4-6 to be exact). We saw the Force Awakens last night during the blizzard. It was quite fun trying to drive home cuz it was still snowing and already inches deep, luckily mom was driving and not me. Ha!
So snow always means Hot Cocoa to me!
I actually made a mix from scratch for a few people for Christmas this year. I wasn't sure I was going to have enough for everyone so I did a double batch. Ended up with a SEA of hot cocoa mix!! It was like sand dunes in that GIANT pot!!
I also crushed up some peppermint pieces and packaged some marshmallows to give with the jars of mix.

Made some tags as well with Christmas paper and wrote the directions for how to make a delicious cup of hot cocoa! They turned out better than I was expecting! :)
And the Christmas presents are DONE!
The hot cocoa tastes pretty darn good too, made myself a cup after shoveling out the end of the driveway today!
So I'm done with snow for the year... if it decided not to snow again the rest of the winter I would be OK with it.
13 inches is enough, thanks!
Anyways, enjoy the rest of your evening!

My Recent Drawings

Hey Everyone!
So I finished that picture that I started drawing yesterday!

It's Dan!
Yay! I am actually very happy with how this turned out. I have accepted the fact that I will only ever get 1 of the eyes to look right, the other one will always be a little wrong. It has happened with almost all of my drawings of people. :P But I am super proud of the lips in this one! They are the best lips I have ever done! HOORAY! His llama hat is a little small but it still looks ok. If I made it any bigger it wouldn't have fit on my page.
So tell me, does it look like him?

I will take this opportunity to show you a couple of the other pictures I have done.

Audrey Hepburn
I was super excited to do this picture. I saw the original in a book that I have and it was all shading! There weren't any hard lines anywhere (as you can tell from the drawing). I was going to ask my cousin Jeshua, who is an amazing artist, to draw it for me but then I decided to try it myself. Generally I like it :)

Robert Downey Jr.
This was my first EVER attempt at drawing a man. I saw this picture in the credits of Sherlock Holmes a Game of Shadows and thought it would be perfect for a drawing! And I am very happy with how it turned out! Granted there are a couple mistakes, and it's not shaded very well (because I didn't have good shading pencils at the time), but I like it :)

 So Yeah!
There's my most recent people drawings!
I have decided that I am better at drawing them big like these where you only really see the face and shoulders. They can be more detailed that way. And when I try drawing a body, it's always the wrong size. Ha!
I need to practice that.
Anywho, I hope you are all having a good Friday!
HOORAY FOR THE ALMOST WEEKEND!

Friday Afternoon Crafts - Day 21

Today while babysitting, me and Austin made PUMPKINS!
I can not take credit for this incredibly artistic photo. Austin took control of my camera and took this. :) Do I see a photographer in the making?
We made Fall/Halloween link garlands to put on the doorways. Always a fun project!
Well, I hope you have a wonderful Friday night! :)

Baby Showers and Yellow Duckies!

Well, my friend Teona is having a baby soon! In fact, her due date is ONE WEEK from TODAY!!! WOOO!!! :D
So last month she had her baby shower. And I got the honor of making her cake and cupcakes!!!

And what would be better for a baby shower than a DUCK! This was the first time I made a cake with this particularly cute ducky pan. It was super fun to make and I enjoyed frosting it very much! I can't wait to make this cake again! :)

And here is Teona dear standing next to her cupcakes! In case you couldn't tell by the PINK colors, she is having a GIRL! Her name is Olivia LeAnna. Isn't that such a beautiful name??

I figured that every baby's room needs a few pegs to hang clothes, bags, and blankets on. So I took it upon myself to make this Name Peg wall hanging! It was super fun to make because I found all these CUTE little girl papers for the letters. There's shoes and polka dots and stripes... ADORABLE! I love it, and Teona does too! :)

And here we all are. THE GROUPIE! Me, Skye, Teona, and Savannah. We have been friends since 6th grade! I love them all. :)

Me and Teona. :)

Well, I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! It's a beautiful day outside, nice and crispy cold. But, I must go to work... :P Ah well, make it a GREAT day! :D
