--What I've Been Up To--

Well, I really haven't posted alot lately. Christmas was just sooooooooo busy! But, now that it's over, I finally have time to show you what I was doing all of December! :)
I made hats for all of my uncles for Christmas!
All the patterns that I used were my own!
I just used a simple pattern to start it and make the increases!
Each one of the hats was specially made to what I thought each person would like!
So, in the end, we had a simple beanie hat, a hat with ear flaps, and a hat with a pom pom on top!

And what a great head model I have, right?
Big thanks to my dad for being so cooperative as I put hats all over his head. :)

TOMORROW IS NEW YEAR'S EVE!!! Hope you all have a wonderful night and a Happy New Year! :D

You say "Potato", I say "Potato... CANDY!"

Last night Mom made my FAVORITE Christmas cookie, POTATO CANDY! Is it really a cookie though? Hm... I think it's more of a Christmas Sweet! :D It's basically powdered sugar and peanut butter. Even just the sound of it curls your teeth! ;)
We had to chill the candy overnight. So TONIGHT Mom cut it up! Apparently it was kind of hard because she is using a butcher's knife... HAHA! :) Gotta love it!
Well, we got it all packed away and back in the fridge now! It will last a long time cuz you can really only eat one piece at a time because it is just so SWEET! Hehe! :) I can't wait to have another piece tomorrow!
I hope you have a Wonderfully Sweet rest of the week!
BARELY A WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! :D :D :D Just a little excited... ;)

Today I wrapped this year's FIRST Christmas presents! I am SO TOTALLY in the mood right now!!! I would wrap all the presents I have right now if only I didn't have to work. :)
How fitting that the first presents are to my Mom and Dad!
Buying gifts and wrapping them is one of my favorite things to do this time of year. I just LOVE it!!!
I am pumped because I have almost EVERYONE done or I have an idea for them. :D :D :D I am early this year. HAHA!

My Last Cake Class!

My last cake class in the Flowers and Cake Design course was this last Monday, so here is my final cake!
It is a spice cake with apple pie filling. It is actually 2 batches of cake mix because I had to make 2 cakes. This had to be 3 inches tall... WOAH! I tell you what, this cake was MASSIVE! It was 10" by 3". Oh it was so heavy too... HAHA! And it was really terrible because the bottom fell out of BOTH cakes... :P So basically it is 4 layers of cake held together by frosting. I was so scared that one of the sides was just going to totally fall apart. But, the decorating went WONDERFUL! All of the frosting is my homemade buttercream. YUM! :)
I shared my cake with my knitting friends again. De Ja Vu? I shared my last final cake with them too! HEHE! Anyways, needless to say as soon as we cut into the cake it fell apart... HAHA! I knew it was coming. But, it still tasted good! :)
If I use this cake pan again, I am DEFINITELY NOT doing 2 layers... HAHA! This was a little too big for me. :)
Well, I hope you have a wonderful night... again! (in case you didn't read my last post, that wish was for you!)

Birthday Present!

I know my mom's birthday was like 2 weeks ago and I only just NOW posted her present. What can I say, I've been busy with Christmas preparations! :)
Anyways, I knitted this hat for my mummy! She knew that I was knitting it for her, but she just didn't know that it was going to be her birthday present. HA!
When I finished it, it actually looked super small... I was upset. But I gave it to her anyway. There was enough yarn left that I would be able to make another one bigger. LUCKILY, it stretched when she put it on and it's a PERFECT FIT!!! :D I was ecstatic! ... Is that the right word? HAHA!
When the new year comes, I am debating on challenging myself to knit one hat a day. We shall see how this goes. :)
I LOVE KNITTING HATS!!!!!!!!

Oh, and speaking of birthdays, IT IS AARON RODGERS BIRTHDAY TODAY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF THE BEST QUARTERBACKS IN THE NFL!!! :D

Have a wonderful night!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my Mom! She turned the big 2-9 today... ;) Hehe! Just kidding. Don't know that she would want me posting her age on the internet tho. HAHA! Anyways, go take a visit to her blog, Raspberries and Rose Petals, and wish her a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! ... if you want. :)
Anyways, I made her cake!!! It is a french vanilla cake with raspberry jam filling, by her personal request. All the frosting is buttercream. This was my first time making roses with buttercream. I tell you what... they are super annoying! It is hard to get the right consistency so that they aren't all crumbly. :P
Brianna and Ben came home for the party! And it's a good thing too because otherwise we would have had too much cake! HA! And extra cake laying around is just NOT good... ;) It was great seeing them for a while! We spent the WHOLE day watching football games.
THE PACKERS KILLED THE VIQUEENS!!! WOOOOOOOT!!!... The Packers are amazing. :)
So, in the end, the cake turned out to be a success. I was a little worried about the stupid frosting making the roses all terrible and such, but all is good! It was a great time spent with family. :)

Have a wonderful Sunday night!

Un Magnifique Gâteau!! (A Wonderful Cake!)

I made a cake for my family in Marshfield while I was visiting last week! This cake is a French vanilla cake mix and is filled with raspberry jam. It was my first time trying to make the frosting look smooth! It's actually quite simple, just take a paper towel without a design on it (like the Viva brand) and use your hand to smooth all over the cake! :)
Course I had some extra cake mix so I just HAD to use Gramma's mini cupcake pan!!! SO CUTE!!!!!! She ended up giving the pans to me, so now I will make mini cupcakes ALL THE TIME! They are terrible because they are bite size so you end up eating like... 10 of them! HAHA!
I used royal icing to make some flowers to put on top of the cake. Everyone was watching me... so the first few turned out really terrible because I was shaking so bad. HAHA! But the rest turned out good!
Et Voilà! Le gâteau fini! (The finished cake ;D)
I just love the colors! The green on the leaves is so vibrant! Well, the flowers (being made with royal icing and all) turned out to be hard as a rock so we couldn't even cut through them. HAHA! Sooo... next time that I actually want to EAT the flowers, I will make them with a stiff buttercream. :)

Well, that is all for now! Hope you have a wonderful night!
Au Revoir! À bientôt! (See you soon :))

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas!

Is it too early for Christmas songs? I think not!!! :D

I saw this year's FIRST SNOW in Marshfield, WI. I was visiting my family there and it started snowing on Sunday. Of course none of it actually stayed on the ground for very long, but it was still fun to watch! The flakes were big and poofy! :) It got me in the Christmas Mood!

This is a look at my Great Grandma's house across the street. Do you see the tiny little white specks? Yup, that be snow! This was before it really started to fall.
This picture was taken from my Grandma's living room window. Her backyard bench already had a tiny layer of snow on it!
Ha! You can see all the snowflakes streaking across the picture. :)
All the white lines that go across the backyard is snow that stuck for a little bit. I think it looks kinda cool like that

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! :D
I hope Green Bay gets some snow soon! It will inspire me to do some Christmas shopping. HAHA!

Have an awesome (hopefully snow-filled) day!

Long Time, No Blog!

Wow! It sure has been a while since I have posted anything. I have just been sooooo busy lately. So I guess I will just have to do some catch-up, show ya'll what I've been up to. :)

In my next cake class, the Flower and Cake Design Course, we started by making these wonderful flowers!!! They are made with Royal Icing, which basically hardens like a rock. Careful, you might break your teeth if you try and bite into one of these flowers.
These here are the Royal Icing Roses. Aren't they just beautiful? My teacher made this yellow one for a demonstration. I absolutely LOVE roses. The two little blue roses were a couple that I made. I like how one has a little bit of pink on the edges. (That happened because there was still a little bit of pink frosting left in the decorating tip. HA!)

And aren't these little flowers just the CUTEST!!! :D
The flower on the left is a Primrose. It was actually really fun to make, and once again SUPER CUTE! The tiny little flower on the right is an Apple Blossom. Just the cutest little flower in the world. :)
So there it is! All my wonderful icing flowers. :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

"I AM NOT A WOMAN!!!"

Tonight I had to babysit Katherine! She is the daughter of a family from my church. Quite the exciting girl... never a dull moment. :)
We had lots of fun tonight... MAKING CUPCAKES!!!!!!!!! :D
These are for a party we are throwing at my house on Sunday night for the Packer game! So, of course, we had to color the cupcakes green and yellow! GO PACKER SPIRIT!!!
It was an eventful evening. While the cupcakes were baking, we watched a movie called The Secret Of Kells. It was rated the #1 animated movie last year or something. It was actually really good! I liked it! It's one of Katherine's favorite movies, so therefore I just HAD to see it. :)
Katherine's Quote Of The Night:
After my dad called out to her saying "WOMAN!!" she says, "I AM NOT A WOMAN!!!"
HA! Such an entertaining child. :)

Have an amazing weekend!

Happy Halloween! EEK!!! Mouse in the House! - Day 31

 Happy Halloween!
Little Did You Know That The Mouse In This House Was ME!!! HAHA! Yup, I scared some people... No... Not Really. :)
Did you hear that?? WHAT WAS THAT???

Oh it was just a cat! :) Luckily this mouse wasn't afraid of any fat cats...
These two became
BEST FRIENDS!!!
I love my fat lump! :)
I am all set for the Steelers vs. Saints game tonight! The big Halloween Game!!! :)

GO STEELERS!!!

I am a big fan of Troy Polamalu! WOOT! Sadly, I don't have any Steelers garb... so I wore my black shirt and gold beads... that's the best I can do. HAHA! :)
And, I can NOT believe that Blogtoberfest is over... It just went by so FAST!!! But it sure was a lot of fun!!! :) I will definitely be doing it again next year. WOOT!!!

Have a wonderful Sunday Night!

If I Had A Million Dollars... - Day 30

I would buy a yellow mustang convertible, a farmhouse out in the country with a gazebo and a flower garden, and have a barn with about 4  or 5 horses. :)
Today's Crafts:
We were making the crown for Sarah's wedding in January. Sarah is the girl with the blonde hair. Haha!
Yup! So mom cut, formed, and wrapped the crown in ribbon. Then me and Sarah wrapped it in this cool beaded garland stuff. It is super pretty! But I tell you what, that garland got tangled SO easily... it was annoying.
By the end it got easier because there was less to put through the middle and such... but still... ANNOYING!
In the end it turned out great! Sarah likes it. :)
Oh my goodness... I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of October... WHAT?? It just flew by! ... It's crazy... Haha!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

... True dat! :)
Have a great night!
