My 2015 Review

Hello All!

Yes, I know, I'm a bit late but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I've been crazy busy the last week or so with family stuff and finally found a day where I can reflect on 2015 and look forward to 2016!
Is it terrible that I can't really think of anything that really happened during 2015? I moved to a new apartment and got a new job in April, so that's... exciting..? HA! Well, Leila was just born at the end of 2014 so a lot of my time was spent with her so I think she would be the highlight of the year.

Here is the first picture I posted in 2015:
We were up in Door County last January and we were watching a football game. Leila was laying like this while watching. HAHA! She's such a cutie :)

In the fall my church had a fundraiser and Bri and I made cupcakes and cake pops to sell in the bake sale. THEY WERE A HIT!! Super fun to make too, but a tiny bit tedious.

Here is a picture that I drew in November. Of all the pictures I drew in 2015 (and there were a few), this is the one I'm most proud of! It's Colin Morgan, an Irish actor who I mentioned in a previous post.

But on another note, LOTS of good movies came out in 2015! I know you've probably heard of most of these, but maybe some you haven't. Here are some of my favorite movies released in 2015 (Beware, there's Lots):
You can click on the pictures to be taken to the IMDB site for each movie

WOW! That took a lot of maneuvering trying to get all those pictures to look half decent. HAHA!
Anyways, even tho that's a lot of movies there are still some that I haven't seen yet and definitely want to! Such as: Southpaw, Everest, The Martian, Pan, Crimson Peak, Suffragette, Brooklyn, Spectre, Mockingjay Part 2, Macbeth, Joy, and The Revenant. (Click on the movie titles to be taken to its IMDB page.) I know, that's a bunch more! Haha! It was a good year for movies! :)

So there was my review of 2015!
BRING ON 2016!
Hope you have a wonderful rest of your evening!

Making A Comeback!

Hello Everyone!
Yes, I know it's been an age since I've created a post, but I'm attempting to make a comeback!

Basically, what happened was in April 2013 I found an apartment and moved out of my parents' house. Hooray for independence! But, I neglected to get internet at my new place... and I still haven't yet...
Yup, I live under a rock...
So, I've decided that I want to continue with my blog anyways and am currently at my parents' house using their internet. Haha!

Alright, I'm going to use this post to tell you about a new addition to our family!
Her name is Leila Desiree!

She is my niece, Brianna's daughter! She was born on October 31st 2014. That's right, she's a Halloween baby. :)
Here she is on the day she came home for the first time from the hospital
Isn't she just a little cutie?!

We recently celebrated her first birthday.
Great fun was had by all! Brianna and I made the smash cake and cupcakes. They are decorated to look like pumpkins, sunflowers, and mums! :) I think they turned out pretty well, what about you?
After the party we all went trick or treating, seeing as it was Halloween. We all had themed costumes, Star Wars themed to be specific :) Ben dressed as Han Solo, Brianna as Princess Leia, Leila as an Ewok, and I dressed as a Jedi.
Altogether, it was a successful day besides being a bit stressful.
To conclude, I would just like to say that Leila is a huge blessing and I love her with all my heart! She is one of the best things that has ever happened! :) They are actually expecting another child, due at the end of February.
It's A BOY!
 So that's exciting!
Hm, this is getting to be kind of a long comeback post. But there was a bit to catch up on!
I'm going to just leave this video of Leila coloring on her new desk right here
It gets super cute around the middle/end :)

Hopefully there's still someone out there who reads my blog even though I haven't posted in almost 3 years... Haha! If not, that's ok with me really cuz I just want to post again no matter who actually reads it.

So, I hope you have a wonderful evening!
I am going to finish watching Merlin :)

A Returning Customer!

Hey Everybody!
Ok, so before we get into the real reason for this post, let's just take a minute to appreciate these ADORABLE bunny marshmallows!
 AREN'T THEY THE CUTEST??

Anyways, so last week I got a message from a friend on facebook who I had made a cake for back in... September was it? I don't remember. It was late last year sometime. Ha!
She had gotten married and asked me to make the cake for her! :D It was really exciting. It was just a little cake for her and her husband and then cupcakes for all their guests
The cake was chocolate with a chocolate pudding filling and it was decorated with my homemade buttercream. I personally LOVED how this cake turned out, and so did she :)
The cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla and were decorated with a chocolate 'K' (for their last name)
So yeah! She was very happy with how it all turned out! So happy in fact that she wanted me to make her another cake! It would be for her daughter's 21st birthday. I was actually good friends with her daughter in school, so that's how she knows me. Haha! Just to clarify.
She wanted it to be marble, so my mom came up with this cool idea to try and make the inside look like zebra print! Now, I am a great lover of zebras so ooobviously this idea was pure brilliance!
The cake itself, no kidding, was chocolate and vanilla with a buttercream layer in the middle then frosted and decorated with my homemade buttercream! This was actually something really different for me because I had never free handed the writing on a cake before, and I've never done the ruffles down the side. I'm just happy it turned out! And so was she! And I hear it tasted pretty good too :)
So that was all exciting!
It felt good to make a cake again!
I didn't like baking it tho... I don't like baking... and yet everyone thinks I'm this amazing baker because of my cakes. They ask how I make them and I'm like...
"Uhhh... Duncan Hines has amazing box mixes that are really easy to use... *derp*" Ha!
UGH! Look what happened right before I tried to do this post today...
This is seriously like the WORST screen to pop up on your computer... I died a little inside... :(
Oh but that's ok, it only took
20 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, on that happy note, Hope you all have a wonderful night! :)

Lumpy Fat Kitty Likes Cupcakes - Day 8

Well, tonight I made cupcakes to bring to church tomorrow! Of course, being a Packer Sunday, I frosted them GREEN! REPRESENT! ;)
Lumpy was asking if he could have one of my yummy-in-my-tummy cupcakes. (Yes, in those words exactly. ;D) But, being that he is a cat, I had to say no...
Aaand here's the look he gave me when I told him he couldn't have one. HAHA! Nothing says "I love you" like that look right there. ;) Hehe!
But, alas, he must move on to better things. If I had any kitty treats, I would have given him one. Aww... Sad face... :( Oh well

Well, I hope you have a GREAT rest of the night. :)

Baby Showers and Yellow Duckies!

Well, my friend Teona is having a baby soon! In fact, her due date is ONE WEEK from TODAY!!! WOOO!!! :D
So last month she had her baby shower. And I got the honor of making her cake and cupcakes!!!

And what would be better for a baby shower than a DUCK! This was the first time I made a cake with this particularly cute ducky pan. It was super fun to make and I enjoyed frosting it very much! I can't wait to make this cake again! :)

And here is Teona dear standing next to her cupcakes! In case you couldn't tell by the PINK colors, she is having a GIRL! Her name is Olivia LeAnna. Isn't that such a beautiful name??

I figured that every baby's room needs a few pegs to hang clothes, bags, and blankets on. So I took it upon myself to make this Name Peg wall hanging! It was super fun to make because I found all these CUTE little girl papers for the letters. There's shoes and polka dots and stripes... ADORABLE! I love it, and Teona does too! :)

And here we all are. THE GROUPIE! Me, Skye, Teona, and Savannah. We have been friends since 6th grade! I love them all. :)

Me and Teona. :)

Well, I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! It's a beautiful day outside, nice and crispy cold. But, I must go to work... :P Ah well, make it a GREAT day! :D

Strawberry Rhubarb Cupcakes!

Oh my goodness! So on this lovely spring day in May, I decided to make rhubarb cupcakes with the fresh rhubarb that was given to us! What better to have on rhubarb cupcakes than strawberry buttercream frosting??

Can you say "YUM!!!"?
I was trying to get a picture of the chopped rhubarb in there... but it didn't work so well... HA!

So I am bringing these wonderful cupcakes to tonight's Knit Night! I hope all my lady friends will enjoy them as much as I know I will! ;)
Well, I am going to go soak in the sun while it's still around! (Supposed to storm this weekend, so I'm grabbing as much sun as I can!)

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!!! :)

Cocoa Fudge Cupcakes

HOORAY! I have successfully made my FIRST batch of cupcakes from scratch! I was a bit worried at first, but I got over it right till the end when I didn't know if I had beaten the egg whites enough... AHHH!!! Good thing Mom was right downstairs to help me out. HAHA!
Yes, these cupcakes were CHOCOLATE! Cocoa Fudge to be exact. They tasted super good and I was so happy that they did. :)
It was actually a lot of fun for me. I have never been much of a baker, but I think I might enjoy it someday. HAHA!
Ahh, such a beautiful cupcake. :) I love cupcakes so much. HAHA! THEY ARE SO YUMMY!!!!! YAHHHHH!!!!!
Anyways, crazy ranting is done for now... ;)
I did not make the frosting for the cupcakes... it was from a can. We didn't have any Crisco, so I used what I had.
I noticed that the frosting in a can is incredibly creamy... it got me to thinking why my buttercream is not as... creamy... It reminds me of what my cake decorating teacher said once... "If you want a more creamy frosting just to ice a cake or put on cupcakes, use 1/2 cup Crisco and 1/2 butter instead of a whole cup of Crisco." AH-HA! Brilliance! So I shall just have to try that at some point. HAHA!
Anyways, hope you have a wonderfully SWEET weekend! :)

Where Have All The Staplers Gone... What Happened To Our Paper Clips...?

HAHA! I know it's totally random and has nothing to do with my post, but I couldn't think of a title for it. So, when I came up with using the song lyrics, I just HAD to show you all the song! :) It is one of my FAVORITE Veggie Tales Songs

Ok, down to business here.
Recognize the picks?
YUP! There was a baby shower yesterday that I made cupcakes for. Those annoying little picks made a nice decoration for them. They are all frosted with my homemade buttercream frosting. I think everyone enjoyed them
Above are some people who were at the shower. Below on the left is the NEW MOM! Her name is Maria. On the right is Karmin, who helped organize the party
AND HERE HE IS! THE LITTLE MAN! His name is Anastasios. He was 6 oz. when he was born and 18" long. He is such a tiny little guy, and so adorable! :)
It was time to play the MOST EXCITING GAME...
Pass The Baby! :) hehe!

Anastasios and Annabelle. I just thought this was the sweetest picture! :)

So, there was my weekend! Full of cupcakes and stuffed with cuteness!

Keep an eye out for any stray staplers... I am still looking for mine. ;) HAHA!
Have a wonderful day!
